Air Conditioning Service Options

An air conditioner is an important piece of equipment used to achieve a comfortable microclimate in the home and office. As a rule, users like climate control equipment like to be powerful and functional, but also economical and simple to operate. From the point of view of the servicing company, there are a couple options with regard to the air conditioner service. The first is the standard way, in which cleaning is done without the removal of the indoor unit of the air conditioning system. In this case, only some parts of the air conditioner are removed. This option is good for conditioners that were installed recently and are not very dirty, and so, don’t require full cleaning. 

The second option involves removing and fully disassembling the outdoor unit, and cleaning each part separately. This option costs more as it requires recovering the refrigerant and disconnecting the refrigerant and power lines from the indoor unit. In this case, the indoor unit is fully removed and disassembled. Usually, this option is used for serious mold contamination. 

However, not all air conditioners can be disassembled and assembled without damage. Cheap air conditioners manufactured in China contain low quality plastic. They are not made to be taken apart and put back together, as they have a very fragile plastic structure, similar to glass. In this case, our company’s technicians warn the customer and recommend they have service conducted using the first option, without removing the indoor unit. 

The costs of conducting servicing consist of the following options:

— the cost of the inspection, cleaning, and diagnostic of the air conditioner.

— the cost of refrigerant — freon (if recharging is necessary).

— The cost of removal and installation, if the technician needs to take off the indoor unit.
